Summer allows the luxury of driving into the canyon. 2wd vehicles park at our summer parking area ¼ mile from the lodge. 4wd vehicles with adequate clearance can drive to the lodge.
People bringing horses or OHVs can trailer to the summer parking area. We’ll help you get your feed and tack the rest of the way in for your horses.
**The 4 mile road to the lodge is dirt and bumpy. Parking onsite offers an adventurous approach as the road leads you through creeks and a tunnel!
Folks interested in a more adventurous approach can park at our winter parking area and hike or mountain bike the 4mile trail to the lodge.
Other options are to hike the PCT from either Squaw Valley or Donner Summit to the Coldstream Trailhead and down to the lodge.
